On Monday, January 5, 206, we celebrated the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
During the Blessing of the Water Service, which commemorates the Baptism of our Lord, the special honor of serving as Godfather of the Cross was bestowed upon Charles Khachian. In this role, Charles bore the Holy Cross after it was submerged in the blessed water and welcomed the faithful to venerate the Cross as they received their portion of holy water at the conclusion of the service.
As we continued the celebration of the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessing of the Water Service held on Sunday, January 11, commemorating the Baptism of our Lord.
For the Blessing of the Water Service the very special privilege of serving as “Godfather of the Cross” was extended to Leo DiBenedetto. In this capacity, Leo had the responsibility of bearing the Holy Cross after it had been submerged into the blessed Holy Water, and welcomed the faithful to kiss the cross as they received their portion of blessed water at the end of the service.
