St. Gregory the Enlightener

The man who initiated the conversion of Armenia was St. Gregory, called the “Enlightener” or “Illuminator” of Armenia. Gregory was the scion of a noble family and was educated in Caesarea, then a Christian center.

What We Believe

The Nicene Creed is a confession of our Christian faith. According to Holy Tradition, the Apostle’s Creed was composed on Pentecost by the 12 apostles, and contains 12 articles of Faith, each written by one apostle.

Community Events

Our parish is blessed with many individuals who are involved in the ministry of our Church through many community activities. Your involvement will only enrich your lives and our ministry here at St. Gregory.

Giving At St. Gregory

Donors like you generously support our St. Gregory the Enlightener Church and our ministries through voluntary contributions year-round. There are many ways you too can help support our church community.

Our Church is One, in that our Lord Jesus Christ founded one Church. The Church has one faith, one liturgy, one hierarchy.

Our Church is Universal, because she shares in the universality of the great Church of Christ.

Our Church is Holy, because our Lord Jesus Christ made her Holy.

Our Church is Apostolic, because it was founded directly by two of the twelve apostles, Saints Thaddeus and Bartholomew.

Our Church is Orthodox, because it has the true faith of Christ.

Our Sacraments & Services

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is a sacrament by which the believer receives Christ’s Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine for remission of sins and the reception of eternal life.

Prayer is essential to Christian life. Jesus Christ himself prayed and taught others to pray. Prayer is a dialogue with God. It can be spoken or silent, carried on in the quiet of our hearts.

Pastoral Services

Rev. Fr. Mesrob is available 24 hours for spiritual guidance and support. Please contact Fr. Mesrob to make arrangements for any Sacraments or Pastoral Services.

Baptism is the Sacrament through which the believer is absolved of sins, is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, becomes a Christian and attains adoption by God.

Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony or marriage is the consecration of the union between a man and a woman for life in lawful marriage and are united together with a spiritual bond.

Funerals mass ceremonies are the opportunity for last wishes and prayers for those loved ones that have passed and for those left behind to have a positive healing experience.

Our Upcoming Livestreamed Service

We are a Church with over nine million faithful dispersed in every continent throughout the world. The head of the Church is Jesus Christ. The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians is the worldwide spiritual leader of the Nation, for Armenians both in Armenia and in the Dispersion. He is Chief Shepherd and Pontiff to all Armenians dispersed throughout the world. The spiritual and administrative headquarters of the Church, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, established in 301 AD in the city of Vagharshapat, Armenia, seventeen centuries later continues to guide our devoted nation and people on the luminous paths of fulfilling the primary mission of our Church – leading people to God.
